Why do we need ISO 42001?

ISO 42001 provides a framework for the management of Artificial Intelligence (AI). The field of AI is moving rapidly with organisations implementing tools into their own solutions or utilising SaaS (Software as a Service) products which already offer tools accordingly. This is all happening with minimal governance over effectiveness, fairness and transparency. We currently view AI as the wild-west of technology and as this technology evolves, ISO 42001 provides a framework for the governance of the use of Artificial Intelligence.

ISO 42001 is a brand new standard, it was first released in 2023.
