Principles of ISO 9001 QMS and the implementation process.

When the implementation process begins there are a few principles that must be deeply rooted in the core of everything that happens. These principles include:

  1. Customer focus, the primary focus of the plan must be to meet and exceed the customers’ needs and demands.
  2. The second principle is Leadership, establishing a leader can help employees maintain the unity of purpose and directions which in turn can boost efficiency at work.
  3. The engagement of people, empowering and engaging employees at all stages of your business can help boost an individual’s drive to deliver better results as they feel more connected to the business as they get empowered.
  4. Arguably one of the most important is the process approach, that every part of the process is understood for the process to function.
  5. Improvement, ensuring that your organisation will have continuous growth as time goes on.
  6. Evidence-based decision-making, all decisions made that affect your business will be based on data and information collected. This will then be analysed and evaluated, to provide the best possible information and inconsistencies to improve your businesses processes.
  7. Relationship management (between all stakeholders) customers are not the only people involved in a business that have changing expectations and demands. For example, your suppliers and investors also hold similar views (i.e towards sustainability and shared benefits).
